The Screen Acting Process: From Casting to Shooting

Mon 11th to Tues 12th December 2023 (8-12 years)

This 2-day Intensive Workshop has been created to prepare young actors for the numerous film and television productions scheduled for filming in Queensland in 2024 and beyond. 

 

It has been designed to be relevant to the needs and expectations of the industry, and to allow the young actor to experience the entire process, from receiving an audition request to shooting on set.

 

Under the tutelage of on-set acting coach, Teraze Burke and actor and acting coach, Annabelle Stephenson, the workshop will cover:

• Casting and chemistry tests

• Discussion about roles on set, the audition process, and how an actor prepares before a day on-set

• Rehearsal and blocking

• Shooting one scene on our sets, in a multicam setup, with raw footage available for collection 

 

This program provides an intensive education platform for young actors who desire to strengthen their performance skills and develop professional industry-relevant knowledge in the craft of screen acting.

All footage recorded during our workshops and weekly classes is kept on our databases for 12 months and is used as a reference for our multi-award winning sister company, McSweeney Newman Casting. The footage is also available to our students to collect for self-marketing purposes.
