Teen Audition & Self Taping Workout with Dave Newman

Learn to take control of your auditions with multi-award-winning casting director, David Newman, from McSweeney Newman Casting.

Suitable for all skill levels from beginners to advanced, this Intensive Workshop is designed to expose teenage students to a range of professional skills that are relevant to preparing for and winning roles within both US and Australian productions.

In recent years, Dave has cast a huge number of productions involving young actors, including: Mako Mermaids, The Bureau of Magical Things, The Family Law, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Love and Monsters, Rock Island Mysteries, and Nautilus.

Designed to be relevant to the needs and expectations of the industry, the workshop will cover a range of skills and tools that will enable the young actor to work comfortably, and confidently, within the pressured environment of the audition and self-tape process, and to take full advantage of the audition opportunity.

Under the tutelage of renowned Casting Director, Dave Newman, from McSweeney Newman Casting, in a dynamic and fun environment, the students will:

• Discuss how to prepare for auditions, and how to film self-tapes

• Film a scene in an audition setup that will be sent out prior to the course date

• Review their scene footage and discuss their thoughts on their own work with Dave

• Film a slate ID and chat to camera

Footage will be available for collection via USB or portable hard drive or we can send it digitally to your email after the course.
