The Warehouse Workshop’s highly popular Screen Audition and Screen Acting youth programs have produced a stable of young actors who have successfully been cast in numerous film and television productions including Rock Island Mysteries, Darby and Joan, Young Rock, The Bureau of Magical Things, Swinging Safari, Catching the Black Widow, Flammable Children, and countless others.

The Essentials of Screen Audition and Self-Tape Processes
Suitable for all skill levels from beginners to advanced, this 2 Day Intensive Workshop is designed to expose 8 - 12 year old students to a range of professional skills that are relevant to preparing for and winning roles within both US and Australian productions. Students will focus on working truthfully and spontaneously to create believable, unique and dynamically engaging screen performances, and on performing confidently and with ease in the audition room or in a self-test situation.
Under the combined tutelage of Tom and Dave, in an energetic and fun environment, the students will undertake modules exploring:

A comprehensive explanation of the audition process

How to prepare for an audition, whether it is a self tape or an 'in-the-room' audition

Screen Audition Techniques - including slates, TVC improvs, and chats to camera

Fundamental Script/Scene Breakdown & Rehearsal of a scene

Simulated Auditions and individual feedback

Self-Tape tutorial for both parents and students

NB: Parents are encouraged to attend the Self-Tape Tutorial module of this workshop at 1.00pm on Tuesday 16th January.

This program provides an intensive education platform for young actors who desire to strengthen their performance skills, and develop professional industry-relevant knowledge in the craft of screen audition.

Please note that this workshop is strictly limited to 12 students only.
​
All footage recorded during our workshops and weekly classes is kept on our databases for 12 months and is used as a reference for our multi-award winning sister company, McSweeney Newman Casting. The footage is also available to our students for self-marketing purposes (please bring USB speed 3.0 or faster to collect).
