Teenage December Holiday Workshop - Screen Acting Essentials

This 2-Day Workshop for Teenage actors (13 - 17 yrs) is the perfect introduction to the Art of Screen Acting for the absolute beginner, or for those young actors who have so far worked exclusively in the theatre.

​

Focused on working in Film and TV, this Intensive Workshop is uniquely designed to  introduce teenage actors to the essential  processes and skills of the working screen actor.

​

It is is a pragmatic, hands-on, practitioners approach to developing knowledge, and a 'must do" for those who wish to build confidence, and explore the methods of the professional film actor.

​

In addition to an exploration of a practical approach to the creation of credible, truthful and compelling screen  performances, you will cover the basic tools of the successful actor. Working with dramatic scripts and exercises, you will explore:

• The essential skills involved in accurate script analysis

• Essential character development skills

• Working with the editor

• Working intimately with the camera

• Genre

• Working confidently and truthfully

Please note that numbers are strictly capped to allow our tutors to provide each student with tailored one-on-one coaching and feedback.

With numerous Hollywood productions coming to Australia during this global pandemic, there has never been a more important time to develop those essential screen test and audition skills. 

​

All footage recorded during our workshops and weekly classes is kept on our databases for 12 months and is used as a reference for our multi-award winning sister company, McSweeney Newman Casting. The footage is also available to our students to collect for self-marketing purposes.
